Pirates – Find Your Way

Knock, knock, are you alone?
No one’s out here and I was not followed…
Love, love, you’re already home…
Party’s over and you don’t look so good.

Jack lay limply on the bed. His eyes were closed, and his entire being was a painful mass of sunburns. In some places, he looked as if someone had attempted to cook him alive. Though with the environment they’d found when they rescued Jack from his own personal hell, he actually appeared to be lucky that his body was still basically useable.

Elizabeth winced as she ran a cool, wet cloth over Jack’s forehead, his bandana pushed up and away, but not removed. It would have been wrong to separate Jack from his bandana, no matter how matted with sweat the article of clothing was. His hat, too, wasn’t far from him, hanging forlornly on the bedpost.

Jack made a quiet whimpering sound, muttering something to himself. His back stiffened, and the word “Krakken” could barely be distinguished as an actual word.

Will, sitting on the other side of the bed, tending to a particularly bad burn on Jack’s side, whispered quietly. “It’s alright, Jack… You’re home now…”

Elizabeth looked across their mutual Captain at her fiancé. “Will… I don’t think he’s getting any better.”

Will just bit his lip, looking down at Jack. “Give him time, dear Elizabeth… He’s been through more than we know.”

You’ll find your way back down,

When you find your way back down,
In one piece,
Then I’ll just be waiting here.
Right here.

“Jones… Jones… the heart! Must find… Compass… where’s me compass…” And he was gone again.

Elizabeth sighed quietly and leaned against Will, letting him wrap his arms around her and doing her best not to cry. Oh god, poor Jack… It was all her fault.

Will, as if sensing what she was thinking, just held her tighter. They both knew she’d done what she had to do… And they both knew that it was very likely Jack would’ve done it himself. Like he’d said to her… “Pirate.” And Pirate Captain at that…

A Captain always goes down with the ship, after all.

Low light, mercury morning,
No need to stay as it’s always nothing.
But your eyes tell a whole other story,
And I feel the weight of the world.

I won’t talk,
I won’t try.
Just move.
It’s too still in your sadness.

Cry,
Give up,
It’s okay.
You’ve just got to trust me.

Three shapes in one bed as the morning light filtered through the window coverings in the Captain’s Quarters.

Will held Elizabeth gently as her hands traced the contours of Jack’s slowly healing body. He pressed a soft kiss to the back of her shoulder, peering over her at their Captain. He hadn’t made a sound in quite some time… Far too quiet. And then, suddenly, it wasn’t.

Sobbing. Shaking. Elizabeth’s eyes opened wide when she realized that Jack was awake, and crying. His shoulders were shaking. Wordlessly, she helped him roll over to face her and bury himself against her.

Will closed his eyes against the lump in his own throat, then slowly got off the bed, only to get in on the other side, the two people who loved him the most sandwiching Jack between them.

“Shh,” Elizabeth whispered against Jack’s dreadlocks, his bandana now changed for a new one, but still there, and as much a part of him as ever. They’d cleaned him up quite a bit in the last week. “It’s alright… We’re here…”

“We’ve got you, Jack,” Will said quietly as he hugged against Jack from behind. “Trust us… you’re safe now…”

Slowly, darling.
Nobody means any more to me than you.
If you’re in, baby then I’m in, (into this)
With you always.
Careful, close to the edge, (you’re scaring me)
Fall into my arms, (where did it all fall)
Fall into love… (love)

It had happened without any of them really noticing what was going on, let alone making any moves to stop themselves. Desperate to comfort Jack in any way possible, both Elizabeth and Will had opened themselves to him completely.

Passion, slow and sweet, had helped to turn his tears of terror to moans of pleasure. Expressions of love so visceral that not one person on the bed could define what was happening between them except with one word: Love.

How much time passed, none of them knew. Neither were they aware of the sun’s light slowly vanishing from the covered windows. The musky scent of their passion flooding the room even as their bodies lost all definition, lost in each other.

Sunlight was filtering through the window coverings again, lending a surreal light to the scene of purest peace on the bed.

Three forms, cradled against each other, not even the smallest stretch of clothing between them to detract from the sensation of each other’s skin.

The room was warm with body heat, the chill of the sea that usually permeated the Captain’s Quarters only present near the walls, and definitely not present anywhere near the bed.

Will stretched lazily, slowly waking up. At some point during the previous night, he had found himself behind Elizabeth, and that was where he still was. Pressing a kiss to her shoulder, he brought one hand up to rub his eyes.

Elizabeth let out a soft yawn of her own and blinked, then smiled slowly. Will, who now could see clearly, suddenly smiled as well.

Jack was lying, completely relaxed, facing them and curled against Elizabeth’s body. But his placement wasn’t what had their attention. It was the fact that he was awake, and his eyes were clear and focused.

Captain Jack Sparrow was smiling.
